Passport & Print-Size Photo Maker
Crop your photo to an exact passport, ID, or print size — US, China (一寸/二寸), EU/Schengen, UK, and India presets, plus 4×6, 5×7, and 8×10 print sizes — all rendered at true 300 DPI pixel dimensions, entirely in your browser.
How to make a passport or print-size photo
- Upload your photo. Drop in a photo with a plain, evenly lit background — nothing is uploaded to a server, it stays on your device.
- Pick a size preset. Choose a passport/ID preset (US, China, EU, UK, India) or a print size (4×6, 5×7, 8×10) — the crop frame locks to that preset's exact aspect ratio.
- Position the crop frame. Drag and resize the frame over your face or subject; use the static head-top and chin guide lines as a rough alignment reference for passport photos.
- Export at true resolution. Optionally tile 6 copies onto one 4×6" sheet for cheap printing, then download a JPEG at the exact pixel dimensions required for 300 DPI print quality.
Use Cases
Frequently Asked Questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. Every crop and export happens locally in your browser using the Canvas API — your photo is never sent to a server.
What size is a passport photo?
It depends on the country: US and India passport photos are 2×2 inches, China uses 一寸 (25×35mm) and 二寸 (35×49mm), and the EU/Schengen area and UK use 35×45mm. This tool has presets for all of them, each computed at 300 DPI.
Does this tool remove or change the background?
No. This tool only crops and resizes — it does not remove, blur, or replace the background. Passport and ID photos require a plain, even background, so start with a photo that already has one.
Does it use face detection to align the photo?
No. The head-top and chin guide lines shown in passport mode are static reference lines at fixed positions, not computed from your photo — they're a rough visual aid, not automated face detection.
Why 300 DPI, and does the exported file actually have a DPI tag?
Print labs judge quality by pixel dimensions at your target size, not embedded metadata — 300 DPI is the standard for sharp prints. This tool guarantees the pixel dimensions are correct for 300 DPI at your chosen physical size, which is what actually matters when printing.
Can I print 6 passport photos on one sheet?
Yes — enable "Tile on one 4×6\" print sheet" in passport mode and the tool automatically computes how many copies fit in a grid with small gaps, then exports a single 4×6" sheet ready to print at a photo kiosk or print shop.
