Volts to Microvolts Conversion
Type a voltage in volts and read the same potential in microvolts. One volt is exactly 1000000 microvolts, so the whole conversion is a single multiplication.
How to convert volts to microvolts
Multiply the voltage in volts by 1000000 to state that same voltage in microvolts. The prefix micro- means one millionth, so one microvolt equals 1/1000000 of a volt and one volt holds 1000000 microvolts.
Small voltages turn into whole numbers this way: 0.000001 V is 1 µV, 0.001 V is 1000 µV and 0.1 V is 100000 µV. Going the other direction, divide the microvolt figure by 1000000 to get back to volts.
Volts to microvolts formula
V(µV) = V(V) × 1000000
In words: the voltage in microvolts equals the voltage in volts multiplied by 1000000. Written with powers of ten, 1 V = 10^6 µV and 1 µV = 10^-6 V.
Worked example — converting 3 volts: V(µV) = 3 × 1000000 = 3000000 µV.
| Volts (V) | Microvolts (µV) |
|---|---|
| 0 V | 0 µV |
| 0.000001 V | 1 µV |
| 0.00001 V | 10 µV |
| 0.0001 V | 100 µV |
| 0.001 V | 1000 µV |
| 0.01 V | 10000 µV |
| 0.1 V | 100000 µV |
| 1 V | 1000000 µV |
