Volts to Megavolts Conversion
Enter a voltage in volts and read back the same potential expressed in megavolts. One volt is one millionth of a megavolt, so every answer is the volt figure divided by 1000000.
How to convert volts to megavolts
Type the voltage in volts into the input field and press Convert. The megavolt result appears in a card below the buttons, Copy puts that figure on your clipboard, and Clear empties the field for the next number.
The scale between the two units is fixed: 1 V = 0.000001 MV, which is ten to the power of minus six megavolts. In the opposite direction 1 MV = 1000000 V, so a megavolt is a million volts.
Volts to megavolts formula
Divide the number of volts by 1000000 to get the size in megavolts:
V(MV) = V(V) / 1000000
For example, converting 3 volts gives V(MV) = 3 V / 1000000 = 0.000003 MV. Because the divisor is a power of ten, you can get the same answer by shifting the decimal point six places to the left.
| Volts (V) | Megavolts (MV) |
|---|---|
| 0 V | 0 MV |
| 1 V | 0.000001 MV |
| 10 V | 0.00001 MV |
| 100 V | 0.0001 MV |
| 1000 V | 0.001 MV |
| 10000 V | 0.01 MV |
| 100000 V | 0.1 MV |
| 1000000 V | 1 MV |
