Notepad
A clean online notepad for jotting, drafting, and pasting text. Everything runs inside this browser tab: your note autosaves to this browser's own local storage, the counter tracks characters, words, and lines as you type, and Copy, Download .txt, and Clear are one press away. No account, no login, no server ever sees your text.
Chars 0 · Words 0 · Lines 0
Everything happens inside this browser tab. Your note autosaves to this browser's local storage only — it is never uploaded or sent anywhere. Copy and Download .txt use native browser actions; Clear deletes the saved copy from this browser.
Write or paste your note
Click in the note area and type, or paste text from anywhere — plain text of any length, multi-line included. The status line under the editor keeps a running count of characters, words, and lines while you work.
It saves itself in this browser
A moment after you stop typing the indicator switches from "Unsaved changes" to "Saved HH:MM". Reopen this page later in the same browser and your note comes back with "Restored from this browser". If saving is blocked or full, the indicator says so loudly instead of losing your text quietly.
Copy, download, or start over
Press Copy to put the whole note on your clipboard, Download .txt to save an exact plain-text file, or Clear to empty the editor and delete the saved copy from this browser. Download before clearing anything you still need.
About this notepad
- Where is my note actually stored?
- Only in this browser, in its built-in local storage, under a single key owned by this page. It is never uploaded, synced, or shared. That also means each browser and device keeps its own separate note — the note on your phone is not the note on your laptop.
- Can I keep several notes at once?
- This notepad keeps one note per browser — it is a scratch pad, not a notes app. To keep a note for good, press Download .txt or Copy it somewhere permanent before you Clear the editor or start a new note.
- Will I lose my note if I close the tab?
- No, as long as the autosave succeeded: the indicator reading "Saved HH:MM" means the note will be restored next time you open this page in the same browser. If it still says "Unsaved changes" or shows an error, copy or download the text before closing.
- How do I delete my note for good?
- Press Clear — it empties the editor and removes the saved copy from this browser immediately. Clearing your browser storage or using a private window also leaves nothing behind.
Privacy: the note, the counters, the download, and the clipboard all work locally in your browser — your text is never collected, stored on a server, or transmitted anywhere.
