Megahertz to hertz conversion
Enter a frequency in megahertz and press Convert to get the same frequency written in hertz. The result is the megahertz figure multiplied by 1000000.
Converting megahertz to hertz
Megahertz and hertz measure the same thing — frequency — and differ only in size. One megahertz equals 1000000 hertz, so going from the larger unit to the smaller one is a multiplication by 1000000.
Type the frequency in megahertz into the field and press Convert; the equivalent value in hertz is shown next to it. Press Copy to keep the result, or Clear to start again with a different number.
Megahertz to hertz formula
The frequency f in hertz is equal to the frequency f in megahertz times 1000000: f(Hz) = f(MHz) × 1000000.
For example, converting 3 megahertz: f(Hz) = 3 MHz × 1000000 = 3000000 Hz.
The relationship works the other way too, since 1 Hz = 0.000001 MHz. A hertz is therefore one millionth of a megahertz.
| Megahertz (MHz) | Hertz (Hz) |
|---|---|
| 0 MHz | 0 Hz |
| 0.000001 MHz | 1 Hz |
| 0.00001 MHz | 10 Hz |
| 0.0001 MHz | 100 Hz |
| 0.001 MHz | 1000 Hz |
| 0.01 MHz | 10000 Hz |
| 0.1 MHz | 100000 Hz |
| 1 MHz | 1000000 Hz |
