Coulombs to Millicoulombs Conversion
This converter takes a charge stated in coulombs and restates the same charge in millicoulombs. Type the number of coulombs, press Convert, then copy the answer or clear the field before the next value.
The coulomb and the millicoulomb
Both the coulomb (C) and the millicoulomb (mC) are units of electric charge. The prefix milli- means one thousandth, which gives the exact relation 1 C = 1000 mC, and read the other way round 1 mC = 0.001 C.
Because the millicoulomb is the smaller unit, a charge written in coulombs always turns into a larger number when written in millicoulombs. With a factor of 1000 the shift is three decimal places, so 0.001 C reads as 1 mC while 1000 C reads as 1000000 mC.
Coulombs to millicoulombs formula
Multiply the charge in coulombs by 1000 to obtain the charge in millicoulombs: Q(mC) = Q(C) × 1000.
As a worked case, converting 3 coulombs gives Q(mC) = 3 C × 1000 = 3000 mC.

| 1 C | 1000 mC |
| 10 C | 10000 mC |
| 100 C | 100000 mC |
| 1000 C | 1000000 mC |
