Ampere-hours to Coulombs
Ampere-hours and coulombs are two ways of writing the same thing, electric charge, and one ampere-hour is exactly 3600 coulombs. Type a charge in ampere-hours and press Convert to see it expressed in coulombs.
About the Ah to C conversion
An ampere-hour describes a current of one ampere held for a full hour, which makes it a convenient way to state how much charge has moved over a long period. The coulomb does the same job on a smaller footing, tied to one second instead of one hour.
The gap between the two units is only the length of the time span: an hour runs 3600 seconds, so a charge given in ampere-hours turns into coulombs by a single multiplication by 3600. Going back the other way is one division by the same number.
Ampere-hours to coulombs formula
Take the charge in ampere-hours and multiply it by 3600 to get the charge in coulombs: Q(C) = Q(Ah) x 3600.
Worked through for 3 ampere-hours: 3 x 3600 = 10800 coulombs. Flipped around, a single coulomb comes out at about 0.00027778 ampere-hours.
