- Learning to Think and Explore in 3D World
We study how vision-language models (VLMs) can learn to think and actively explore in 3D space. Instead of providing multi-view images, videos, or 3D representations to the model, we preserve the native visual encoding of VLMs, i.e., a single image, one at a time, just like humans, and treat the 3D representation only as an environment with which the model can interact through actions (e.g., move left) and observations (rendered images). Each rollout begins from an initial first-person view and a visual question. The model can then iteratively reason, navigate, and reorient its viewpoint before committing to a final answer. Following an initial trajectory-supervised finetuning, we apply reinforcement learning (RL) with rewards driven primarily by final-answer correctness. Crucially, RL provides no direct supervision over which viewpoints the model should visit or which exploration actions it should take. Instead, the model must learn an effective exploration policy solely from the extent to which its interactions improve performance. Across six 3D benchmarks, our model ACT3D achieves an average accuracy of 53.2% that improves its base Qwen model by 22.0% and surpasses proprietary Gemini 3.6 Flash. ACT3D also outperforms existing open-source 3D methods while using 50-70% fewer input frames, and generalizes to unseen domains with an average improvement of 5.9% over its supervised initialization. Further analysis reveals adaptive, question-conditioned exploration. Performance gains over the base model increase from 0.6% on questions answerable from the initial view to 16.3% on those requiring extensive exploration. ACT3D searches for occluded targets, avoids unnecessary exploration, and acquires complementary viewpoints for spatial comparisons. These findings demonstrate that outcome-based RL enables VLMs not only to reason over visual evidence, but also to learn when and how to acquire it.
- LiveMACE: Process-Aware Evaluation of LLM Agent Capabilities in Evolving Markets
Evaluating agents by outcomes alone can obscure the capabilities that produce them. This problem is especially pronounced in evolving environments, where outcomes reflect a closed-loop interaction between agent behavior and changing external conditions. We introduce LiveMACEBench, a process-aware benchmark that uses live financial markets as a naturally evolving testbed for persistent LLM agents. Five frontier LLMs operate along continuous trajectories under matched Tool Use, Persistent Memory, Rule Following, and Multi-Agent Collaboration configurations. We evaluate them through both realized outcomes and mechanism-specific diagnostics derived from complete decision traces. Across 30 days of live evaluation, we find a pronounced outcome-capability gap: realized returns often diverge from capability-specific measurements, and similar outcomes can arise from markedly different patterns of mechanism use. Trace-level diagnostics further expose distinct bottlenecks across capabilities, demonstrating that mechanism access, effective mechanism use, and downstream performance are not interchangeable measures of agent capability. LiveMACEBench makes this distinction measurable, turning live markets from a performance leaderboard into a diagnostic environment for agent capability
- Speculative Sampling in Interactive Video Generation
Interactive video generation commonly relies on small bidirectional chunks to reduce response latency. Yet our preliminary experiments show that larger chunks improve video quality and better utilize GPU parallelism, allowing more latents to be sampled with only a modest increase in sampling time. Motivated by these observations, we propose Speculative Sampling, a strategy that combines the modeling power of large bidirectional windows with the low-latency interaction of small ones. It expands the modeling window by appending noise latents as padding and caches the resulting predictions for reuse when the condition remains unchanged. Predictions are delivered incrementally, while the uncommitted future remains replaceable. Our latency analysis shows that this removes the waiting-time lower bound imposed by chunk boundaries, shifting the optimization focus from reducing chunk size to accelerating per-chunk sampling. Bidirectional window size thus becomes a decision variable for jointly optimizing visual quality and sampling time, rather than a necessary constraint on low-latency interaction. This opens a path to serving large bidirectional models in interactive streaming systems without complex streaming post-training.
- Scene-Designer: Learning Design Intelligence for Agentic 3D Scene Generation
Generating complete, coherent, and usable 3D indoor scenes from natural language requires strong design intelligence: the ability to design high-quality scenes and critique their quality. However, existing approaches either rely on general-purpose models lacking domain-specific design experience or learn from static scenes. In this work, we introduce Scene-Designer, an agentic framework that learns design intelligence through complementary design and critique experiences. We construct two datasets: Scene-OTA-35K, which provides Observation--Thought--Action supervision for learning scene design and efficient error correction, and Scene-OTC-15K, which provides Observation--Thought--Critic supervision for learning scene quality critique across physical validity, functional correctness, and layout coherence. Based on these experiences, we propose Scene-GRPO, a Critic-guided GRPO framework that improves design decisions and reduces unnecessary trial-and-error corrections. Extensive experiments demonstrate that Scene-Designer achieves superior performance in physical validity, functional correctness, and layout coherence, while the learned Scene-Critic significantly outperforms general-purpose models in scene critique. Moreover, test-time Critic guidance further improves scene generation, showing that the Critic can provide useful guidance beyond training. Additional analysis suggests a trend of mutual enhancement between scene design and critique abilities.
- OpenMobile-2: Building Versatile Mobile Agents with Scalable Environments and App-Native Tools
We introduce OpenMobile-2, a near-frontier mobile agent with fully open training environments and recipes. We make three key advances: (1) Diverse environments with simulated commercial apps: We build MobileGym++, featuring 35 realistic, functionally rich commercial-style apps with cross-app workflows, while preserving full controllability for reset and verification. Together with newly configured apps in Android emulators, this yields a diverse playground spanning over 110 apps. (2) Open training data at scale: Building on this foundation, we curate nearly 12K mobile interaction trajectories for supervised fine-tuning and the largest open collection of verifiable RL training data for mobile agents, comprising over 2K executable tasks with automatic rewards. (3) Hybrid GUI and app-native tool use: We explore an experimental mobile-use setting where apps expose selected functionalities as app-native tools alongside their GUIs, allowing agents to interleave GUI actions and tool calls within a task. We implement this setting in MobileGym++ with over 300 carefully scoped tools across 50+ apps. Additionally, we introduce MobileGym++ Bench for complex, long-horizon commercial mobile scenarios, supporting both GUI-only and hybrid GUI-tool evaluation on a shared task suite. OpenMobile-2 performs competitively across established benchmarks, including AndroidWorld (79.9) and MobileWorld (50.4), while showing promising transfer to real-device mobile use, nearly doubling SPA-Bench performance from 31.9 to 59.6. All resources are available at https://os-copilot.github.io/OpenMobile2-Home/.
- From Research Goals to Scientific Closure: Evaluating Agents Through Evidence-Supported Physics Research
Can AI agents organize scientific investigations that lead to well-supported conclusions? To evaluate this capability, we introduce PhysClosureBench, a benchmark of 50 expert-verified, goal-specified research tasks spanning strong-field, attosecond, and neighboring physics areas. Each task specifies the research objective and essential scientific constraints, while leaving the agent to organize the investigation and determine how to generate and validate the evidence needed to answer the question. A 20-criterion Atomic Score measures local scientific accomplishment, while Research Closure (RC0--RC4) assesses how fully the investigation resolves the specified research question based on whether its indispensable evidence requirements and applicable scope conditions are satisfied. We evaluate seven frontier LLMs, where Claude-Opus-5 achieves the highest mean Atomic Score (6.29/10) but reaches RC4 in only 32.7% of attempts. Across the benchmark, 36.2% of attempts scoring at least 8/10 still fall short of RC4, while all seven models reach RC4 on substantially fewer tasks in all three runs than in at least one. Case-level analysis further illustrates how misinterpretation of generated results and unresolved physical applicability limits can lead to incomplete closure. Together, these results reveal a persistent gap between AI agents' local scientific accomplishments and their ability to achieve complete research closure.
- BridgeWAM: Bridging Video and Action Experts via Latent Bridge Queries
World Action Models (WAMs) commonly couple video and action experts through dense, layer-wise Mixture-of-Transformers (MoT) attention, exposing action prediction to irrelevant visual features while enforcing matched expert depths. This coupling hinders selective visual-feature use and introduces redundant computation. We introduce Bridge-of-Experts (BoE), instantiated as BridgeWAM, which aggregates visual, language, and proprioceptive priors through 32 Latent Bridge Queries (LBQs) into a shared, limited latent space. Joint video-action supervision lets action gradients guide the Video Expert toward representations better suited for action prediction, while the Action Expert learns to selectively retrieve task-relevant information through cross-attention. Decoupling expert depths and reusing LBQs during action denoising yield a 5.06B model with a 30-layer Video Expert and a two-layer Action Expert, achieving 98.25% success on LIBERO and 72.24% pooled success on LIBERO-Plus, demonstrating effective task execution and strong generalization with an ultralight action head. Ablations support joint representation adaptation and unified LBQ conditioning. Relative to Fast-WAM, BridgeWAM reduces single-sample inference FLOPs by 28.72% in simulation profiling and real-robot latency to 77.1 ms (a 2.47-fold speedup). Qualitative experimental results further indicate preferential attention to target objects and task destinations across perturbations.
- Lexical Reference Frames: Interpreting LM Residual Streams in Native Semantics
The vocabulary of a language model is its native semantics: the embedding and the unembedding fix the meaning of a state at the two ends of the residual stream. Between them, existing methods either reuse a fixed lens or treat the states as a point cloud, and neither reads a state the way the model does. We argue that every hidden state has a native reference frame, induced by the layers that read it next and adaptive to the context. Lexical reference frames approximate it by reading a state through the model's own remaining layers with a stated number of rounds of attention between positions and a typical attention output for the rest, without fitting to the model's output. No lens, with fixed directions per layer, can exceed the square root of the native frame's coherence, 0.30 and 0.35 at mid-depth of SmolLM3-3B and OLMo3-7B, whereas the first-order frame, LexFrame[1], reaches 0.97 and 0.97 and reads a state within 0.16 nats of the model's output. Its coefficients attribute predictions more faithfully than attribution patching, its lexical basis steers a prediction while sparing other tokens, and its confident readings would let an early exit skip 0.45 and 0.42 of the layers, where lenses skip almost none. In this way, lexical reference frames make every hidden state of the model readable, attributable and steerable.
- Xiaomi-Lens-0 Technical Report
Multimodal large language models (MLLMs) answer questions about whole images well, yet they still struggle with fine-grained region understanding. A key reason is that text-only supervision never specifies which regions support an answer. To close this gap, we present Xiaomi-Lens-0, a 4B MLLM built on Qwen3.5 that predicts masks from its own visual representations. Specifically, a lightweight decoder combines vision-encoder patch features with visual latents, the language model's mask-token states, so mask supervision reaches the shared backbone without an additional segmentation encoder. Because each latent decodes to a mask, the model can interleave reasoning with region-specific latents and thus think with visual latents, while grounded reasoning traces supervise the regions it visits during chain-of-thought. As a result, across all eight RefCOCO, RefCOCO+, and RefCOCOg splits, Xiaomi-Lens-0 gains 5.6 points on average over Qwen3.5 in referring comprehension and achieves the highest segmentation cIoU among compared models. Moreover, it surpasses Qwen3.5 across all perception benchmarks. Homepage: https://seerray-lab.github.io/Xiaomi-Lens-0{this https URL}
- LEV: Thinking Fast and Deep with Looped Decision Models
Decision models answer typed questions about an input with one probability per option, computed in a single forward pass without generating text. Like the fast System 1 of dual-process theory, they answer at once, but their depth is fixed at training time, so they spend the same computation on easy and hard questions. Models that reason in generated text can think longer, but they pay for every extra step in decoded tokens. We present LEV, a decision model that thinks deeper by rerunning its layers in a loop instead of generating tokens. LEV builds on a language model pretrained as a loop, reads the options after every loop step and trains all steps jointly, so one checkpoint can answer at any depth. On three looped backbones, accuracy rises with depth on the same weights, mostly on hard questions, and a 2.6B LEV goes from 63.2% at depth one to 76.2% at depth four on JevBench. On-demand depth, set per question by a small stopper with a threshold fitted on unlabelled requests, saves 15% to 24% of the computation at a cost of under one accuracy point, level with or slightly above a fixed mix of depths. On a locked test set, the 1.4B and 3B models are 5.4 to 8.8 points more accurate than dense (non-looped) models and cascades of the same latency below 50 ms.
- RAP: A Dataset for Paper-to-Poster Generation via Declarative Markup from Human-Crafted Exemplars
Making a conference poster is visual coding in miniature: an entire paper must be compressed onto a single page, which exercises summarization, visual design, and code implementation at once, using nothing beyond the paper itself. Yet benchmarks for this task in the context of visual coding remain scarce: existing resources are small and annotated only with layout boxes, so evaluation must fall back on VLM-as-judge or human checklists rather than objective render-and-compare, and the generation methods they support design layouts from scratch, leaving human-crafted posters unusable as either a retrievable design library or as verified supervision. We introduce RAP (Reconstruct A Poster), a dataset and benchmark for paper-to-poster generation as a visual coding task. RAP contains 25K+ verified paper-poster pairs from various machine learning conferences held between 2022 and 2026, annotated with a three-level content taxonomy, plus a held-out benchmark of 150 test papers each paired with its human poster. A fully automated derendering pipeline turns each poster into styled HTML/CSS of typed, refillable slots, so every sample is a paper-poster-markup triplet verifiable by rendering against the source poster. The corpus serves both inference and training: PosterRAG, a training-free multi-agent pipeline, retrieves an exemplar and refills its slots without touching layout or styling, while an SFT+RL recipe trains a dedicated model from the same triplets. An online demo is available at https://reconstruct-a-poster.github.io/.
- Execution Before Memory: Diagnosing Memory Failures in Video World Models
A memory test for a video world model should say whether the scene was set, whether the asked change was carried out, and whether the last frame shows the result. Current tests fold these into one number, so a low score is easy to read as forgetting. When the change is not carried out, the hidden state transition cannot appear, so the test is not really a test of memory. We introduce MIST, an evaluation that separates the change from the memory it should leave behind. The model first sets the scene while the change stays hidden, and only later is asked to show it, with leakage before that point kept under control. This separation locates the bottleneck: the model sets the scene but does not carry out the instructed change. The same gap appears in general memory evaluations. On that basis we propose M3-Agent (Make the Missing Move), which recursively revises the details of the input instruction so that the model successfully carries out the requested instruction. Relative to the baseline, it more than triples the MIST reveal score. On the benchmarks, WRBench's score T rises by 26.1% and MBench-T's score U by 52.7%. The method meets the problem from the execution side: it shows what the frozen model can do once the move is stated, and it sets a stricter baseline.
- OfficeTown: Generative Organizations for Evolving Agent Intelligence
AI agents increasingly use files and software tools to produce professional deliverables. Such work draws on materials, decisions, and feedback accumulated across assignments. We introduce OfficeTown, a generative simulation framework for professional organizations in which tasks and their context arise from continuing organizational work. From a natural-language description of an organization's purpose and activities, OfficeTown initializes an organization whose members coordinate work, delegate bounded assignments to assistant agents, and review their deliverables. Artifacts, decisions, and unresolved matters persist and shape subsequent work, while responsibilities and permissions determine what each member can see and do. We curate work requests, their context, and review feedback into executable resources for evaluation and learning. We construct OfficeTown Bench with 406 tasks and 4,836 evaluation criteria from 23 simulated organizations across eight professional domains, incorporating domain-expert feedback. Frontier-model evaluations reveal substantial remaining headroom. Supervised fine-tuning and on-policy distillation on OfficeTown data substantially improve Qwen3.5-9B on external professional-work benchmarks, including GDPval. Supplementary evaluations show that the principal--assistant harness achieves higher scores than the single- and multi-agent baselines tested. These results highlight the value of organizational simulation in generating work-grounded data and environments for the continued development of generalist agents.
- Can Visual Generation Expand What Unified Multimodal Models Know?
Unified multimodal models (UMMs) receive image-generation supervision that exposes them to visual information not fully documented in text. Can learning to generate images expand what pretrained models know? We introduce Knowledge Transfer Probing (KTP), a controlled protocol that supplies new knowledge through image-generation training and tests its accessibility through text-only question answering. Across seven knowledge categories and three UMMs, we observe direct but uneven transfer from visual supervision to language. Motivated by these observations, we successively introduce Textual Alignment and Interleaved Image--Text Alignment, which connect generation and answering through shared knowledge and interleaved responses, respectively. Guidance on selected entities can improve knowledge access on other entities without QA supervision, with additional gains from interleaved alignment. Further analysis shows that knowledge correctly reproduced in images is often more accessible through text, although substantial gaps remain between the two forms of access. These findings support visual generation as a source of knowledge beyond textual supervision, and motivate joint investigation of training data design and model architecture to make this knowledge more broadly accessible.
- MOSS-Image Technical Report
Recent closed-source image generation systems can produce diverse visual content from simple compositions to information-dense graphics, yet open-weight text-to-image models still struggle with dense text and intricate layouts. To narrow this gap, we introduce MOSS-Image, an open generation system that combines high-fidelity visual synthesis with intent-aware composition. First, we pretrain a 5B single-stream diffusion transformer (DiT) from scratch with a carefully designed recipe, enabling bilingual long-form text rendering and precise layout control. Second, we develop an intention-aware agentic prompt enhancement (PE) module that translates diverse user requests into detailed content and layout specifications. Together, they enable MOSS-Image to generate text-rich and layout-coherent images. We further introduce LongLongTextBench (LLTB) for evaluating long-form English and Chinese text rendering, and RealLayoutArena (RLA) for end-to-end layout-rich generation. MOSS-Image achieves state-of-the-art performance among open-weight models on LLTB, with an average text coverage of 96.3%. On RLA, MOSS-Image ranks second in the end-to-end system comparison, while its backbone ranks first among generators evaluated with shared enhanced prompts. We will release the model, training recipe, and evaluation framework to support further research and promote the text-to-image community.
