  1. DiffusionART: Efficient, Stable and Scalable Reinforcement of Diffusion Models

Online reinforcement learning (RL) fine-tunes diffusion models with black-box rewards, but reverse-process methods such as Flow-GRPO are limited in efficiency by poor credit assignment, while forward-process methods such as DiffusionNFT are efficient yet unstable without carefully tuned exponential-moving-average (EMA) off-policy training. We show that NFT-style objectives contain a hidden forward--reverse consistency force that joint positive--negative training cancels only partially, and that EMA stabilizes training through restoration rather than off-policy rollouts. We introduce DiffusionART (Diffusion Reinforcement with Aggregation-First Reward Tilting), which aggregates each prompt's rewards into a shared reward-improving direction for reverse-process states, removing the consistency force by construction, and adds a trust-region-masked second update for drift-adaptive restoration without EMA tuning. It requires no differentiable reward model, remains effective with fewer samples per prompt, and supports pairwise reward models (DiffusionART-Pairwise). Across image and video generation, DiffusionART trains efficiently and stably without per-task tuning. In particular, on HunyuanVideo-13B with equally weighted visual and motion quality rewards, DiffusionART reaches the late-stage mean reward levels of DiffusionNFT and Flow-GRPO-Fast with 12.02 and 11.72 times fewer GPU hours, respectively, while achieving 28.8% and 53.0% higher mean training rewards.

  2. S-Space: Exploring Spatial Workspace in Multimodal Language Models

Multimodal language models (MLLMs) exhibit promising spatial reasoning capabilities, yet the internal mechanisms supporting them remain poorly understood. We uncover S-Space, a linear representation subspace in which object-token representations encode continuous coordinates along horizontal, vertical, and distance axes. Although we identify these axes by differentiating spatial-answer scores with respect to object-token activations, S-Space is intrinsic rather than induced by specific data or prompts, remaining readable under non-spatial questions. We show that S-Space functions as an internal spatial workspace of MLLMs. Perception encodes object locations into it, forming spatial representations that can be directly read out to support accurate spatial judgments. Internal reasoning transforms it for changing viewpoints. Verbal responses selectively access it, evidenced by causal interventions that alter spatial judgments while largely preserving non-spatial responses. Case studies further show that S-Space assigns locations to unseen entities and the observer, and connects physical directions with abstract linguistic meanings, suggesting both the capabilities and limitations of large-scale language training. Finally, we use S-Space as a diagnostic tool for spatial reasoning failures. Direction-word readouts reveal systematic coupling between cardinal and image-relative reference frames. More importantly, a perception-computation decomposition exposes a key bottleneck: MLLMs can form capable spatial representations, yet fall short in the spatial transformations required to reason reliably across viewpoint changes.

  3. Reflex: Visually Grounded Reactive Humanoid Control

Humans effortlessly react to the world; they adeptly return a tennis shot, catch a falling cup, step aside from a passing cart, or pass a box tossed during truck unloading. These everyday actions require anticipating a moving target and reflexively responding with the whole body within about a second. Such visual reactive whole-body control remains challenging for humanoids, which must (1) coordinate whole-body control, (2) react to object dynamics in real time, and (3) ground perception in egocentric vision. We study catching thrown boxes as a representative task that demands all three capabilities; existing systems cover only part of it, relying on end-effectors, motion capture, or marked objects. We present Reflex, a three-stage framework that learns these capabilities stage by stage while connecting them through a compact representation of object dynamics. First, a state-based policy learns whole-body catching with reinforcement learning. Second, the policy learns to infer the dynamics of a moving box from delayed and incomplete observations. Third, an egocentric RGB-D encoder learns to recover this dynamics representation directly from visual observations while keeping the whole-body controller fixed. This decomposition provides each capability with a direct training signal and makes visual learning substantially more scalable. In simulation, Reflex achieves 85.7% catch success from egocentric RGB-D, compared with 87.9% when given privileged box observations. Temporal visual history is critical: removing it reduces success by 35.6 and 39.8 points on centered and laterally offset throws. On a real Unitree G1, Reflex catches human-thrown boxes with 65% and 40% success at 2.5 and 5 m, reaching 76% and 59% of human catchers' success at the same distances.

  4. SoftwareGym: Scaling Computer-Use Agent Training with Diverse Synthesized Software Environments

Computer-use agents (CUAs) are rapidly improving, yet synthesizing diverse and reliable software environments at scale remains challenging. Native application environments require substantial construction and integration effort, which limits application coverage and increases the risk of application-specific overfitting. Browser-hosted environments provide limited interaction depth and workflow complexity. These limitations motivate SoftwareGym, an automated pipeline for synthesizing GUI software environments with diverse interfaces, executable functionality, and runtime-verified behavior. It generates structurally diverse designs, realizes them as runnable applications, and uses GUI evaluation with iterative repair to ensure functional reliability. Using SoftwareGym, we synthesize 182 applications across twelve categories and achieve a mean GUI task pass rate of 91.5%. We construct SoftwareGym-Bench, a 120-task evaluation suite spanning the same twelve categories, and use trajectories collected from these environments for CUA training. The resulting model improves Pass@3 from 41.39% to 56.97% on the strictly out-of-domain OSWorld benchmark and achieves 40.0% on SoftwareGym-Bench. These results demonstrate the potential of synthesized software environments as scalable and transferable supervision for CUA training.

  5. VisionWeave: Weaving Elastic Visual Representations as a Native Capability of MLLMs

Multimodal large language models have become the dominant paradigm for visual understanding, but incur substantial costs by encoding inputs into dense, fixed-size patch tokens. However, visual information is unevenly distributed: some regions require fine-grained detail, while others admit compact representations. Downsampling sacrifices this detail, while existing token pruning and adaptive approaches remain limited in content-adaptive granularity, task generalization, and integration with modern MLLMs and serving infrastructure. Overcoming these limitations calls for foundation models that learn, end to end, where-and at what granularity-to allocate visual representations, a native capability we term elastic visual representation weaving. We introduce VisionWeave, establishing this capability in frontier-level MLLMs through large-scale training. It combines two components: a gated spatial pooler constructs coarse-grained representations alongside native fine-grained representations within a shared MRoPE coordinate, while a granularity router learns their content-adaptive allocation. Through self-distillation alone, we validate this capability on Qwen3.5-4B and scale to Qwen3.8-27B with over 30K A100 GPU-hours. Based on Qwen3.8-27B, VisionWeave adaptively adjusts token savings to visual content, saving 43.0% tokens on average while retaining 98.9% native performance across eight benchmarks, versus only 88% performance preserved for token pruning baselines with a fixed 50% savings target. Extensive evaluations confirm robust efficiency-quality trade-offs across diverse tasks, resolutions and video frames. When deployed on SGLang serving engine, our method achieves a 2.3x throughput gain while reducing mean TTFT by 54.4% and mean TPOT by 60.6%. Together, we believe these results position elastic visual weaving as a promising capability for next-generation multimodal models.

  6. Can AI Agents Learn Their Way to the Top? Evaluating Heuristic Learning in a Long-Running Game Agent Competition

Adversarial games have driven advances from heuristic search to reinforcement learning, yet learning and adapting strategies from limited samples remain challenging. AI agents offer an alternative by turning game experience into revisions of executable policies. Building on heuristic learning (HL), we formalize Adversarial Heuristic Learning (AHL), a paradigm that uses AI agents as learning engines to refine game policies and supporting software while keeping model weights fixed. We introduce AAArena, a benchmark comprising 12 authentic adversarial games and 1,920 archived human programs, with an evaluation protocol modeled on real-world game competitions. Agents interpret rules, choose opponents, analyze replays, and revise game agents to achieve their highest ranking within fixed match and evaluation budgets. We evaluate completedmodels model and harness configurations: Opus5.5 with Claude Code earns 6 gold medals, while no evaluated configuration tops the remaining 6 human ladders. Performance is generally weaker in games with more complex rule specifications. Further experiments show that opponent selection and dense feedback support policy improvement, and that agents learn from both on-policy replays of their own matches and off-policy replays of other players' matches. These results highlight HL's potential in adversarial games and identify persistent challenges in game understanding, strategy implementation, and long-horizon policy development.

  7. Continually Post-training Small Models via Synthetic Self-distillation

Continual post-training faces a dual challenge of acquisition and retention: models must learn new capabilities while preserving prior knowledge. While Self-Distillation Fine-Tuning (SDFT) mitigates this using self-supervision with in-context demonstrations, it relies on strong in-context learning and instruction-following abilities. Consequently, SDFT fails on smaller models critical for low-latency, on-device use. To enable continual learning at smaller scales, we first identify the root cause of failure. We show that poor acquisition and forgetting correlate linearly with the post-trained model's distribution shift, revealing the necessity of in-distribution learning. We thus introduce Synthetic Self-Distillation (SynthSelf), imitating SDFT's in-distribution rewrite by outsourcing the task to a minimally larger, same-family aligner. Coupled with off-policy supervision and rejection sampling, this provides the high-quality supervision small models require without breaking their original distribution. Evaluations spanning 4 acquisition datasets (including a mixture) and 14 retention benchmarks show SynthSelf consistently outperforms 6 methods (including off- and on-policy distillation) across 3 small model scales. Extensive further analyses confirm SynthSelf paves the way toward effective small-model continual learning.

  8. Work2Skill: Capturing Human GUI Experience for Reusable Agent Skill Induction

Computer-use agents can perform increasingly complex GUI tasks, yet unfamiliar software and workflows requiring human domain knowledge remain challenging. Human demonstrations convey procedural knowledge through the same GUI interaction space, but reuse requires interpreting actions in context and separating workflow rules from task-specific details. We thus introduce Work2Skill, a framework that captures human GUI experience for reusable agent skill induction. WorkRecorder provides the framework's infrastructure for collecting this experience, aligning screen recordings, mouse and keyboard events, and available accessibility-tree information. Using WorkRecorder, we construct WorkDemo-350, the first synchronized multimodal dataset of human desktop GUI demonstrations for reusable agent skill induction and downstream evaluation. Its 350 demonstrations are screened for completeness and task success. We then propose an agentic skill-induction method that inspects evidence on demand to produce reusable skills capturing workflow rules, step dependencies, and completion checks. When the same four execution models are equipped with skills induced by each method under shared execution settings, Work2Skill achieves the highest scores and success rates. Mean score improvements over the corresponding No Skill baseline are 4.67--10.54 points on MyPCBench Bounded Action and 3.11--7.50 points on a 286-task subset of OSWorld-Verified. Our code and data are available at https://github.com/china-qijizhifeng/Work2Skill.

  9. SepGen: Multi-Stem Audio-Video Separation and Generation in a Single Model

A 4D audio-visual scene comprises a video, the dynamic geometry it depicts, and the sound sources that populate it, each with its own position and trajectory. Rendering such a scene from a novel viewpoint requires that every source be available as an individual waveform, so that it can be localized in the scene and propagated to the observer before the signals are mixed. Joint audio-video generators can synthesize the video and its soundtrack, but the soundtrack is emitted as a single audio-mix in which the sources are not individually accessible. We present SepGen, which extends a pretrained audio-video generator to emit the video, the mixed soundtrack, and one waveform per captioned source in one joint sampling run. SepGen supports two complementary modes: generation and separation. In generation mode, each source caption specifies what its stem contains. A two-speaker dialogue, for example, comes out as one stem per speaker in the original turn order. In separation mode, the input audio-mix remains clean while the captions specify what to extract, so the model can decompose a recording from a free-text description. We evaluate generation on scenes synthesized from text, and separation on scenes rendered by other generators and on real recordings of speech, music, and sound effects. Given an audio-mix and captions that carry the spoken lines, SepGen outperforms language-conditioned separators, most clearly on speech, and it keeps the lead when the lines are removed from the captions. Code, checkpoints, and datasets are available at https://sepgen.github.io/

  10. Contextual Correction of Parallel Draftsfor Speculative Decoding

Speculative decoding accelerates large language model inference by using a lightweight drafter to propose multiple tokens that are subsequently verified in parallel by the target model. Recent diffusion-based drafters make this paradigm particularly attractive: deep attention-based neural backbones provide strong predictions, while drafting multiple future positions in parallel avoids the sequential cost of autoregressive generation. This parallelism, however, comes at a cost. Tokens within a draft block are predicted without access to the realized identities of preceding draft tokens, removing intra-block dependencies that would naturally be available under autoregressive generation. We introduce DCOCO (DFlash Contextual Corrector), a lightweight mechanism that restores these dependencies while preserving parallel drafting. Rather than committing to each position's top prediction, DCOCO retains multiple candidate tokens and evaluates their contextual compatibility across adjacent draft positions in parallel, enabling contextually informed token selection at low additional cost. Across four verifier backbones and ten benchmarks, DCOCO achieves the highest average throughput in every evaluated configuration, spanning greedy and stochastic decoding with and without extended reasoning, with speedups of up to 6.6x over vanilla decoding. Its advantage persists under concurrent serving: DCOCO outperforms the strongest competing method by 6-23% across 4-32 concurrent requests, while other sequential correctors fall below uncorrected DFlash at these loads. These results demonstrate that recovering intra-block dependencies through parallel contextual scoring delivers consistent acceleration across decoding regimes and serving loads.

  11. SWE-Duel: Towards a Self-Scaling Arena for Coding Agents

Static coding benchmarks are fixed at release. Over time their tasks leak into training data, and stronger agents eventually saturate them. We argue that a benchmark should instead aim to be self-scaling: its tasks and oracles are created at evaluation time, so no content exists in advance to leak, and its difficulty is set by the participating agents rather than fixed at release. We introduce SWE-Duel, an arena in which two coding agents evaluate each other over mirrored Red-Blue turns. In each turn, the Red agent works on a real repository across three context-isolated sessions. It proposes and implements a new feature with feature tests, then embeds a subtle bug in that feature along with sealed bug-triggering tests. The resulting pull request is admitted only if (1) it passes the feature tests and the repository's existing tests while failing exactly the bug tests, and (2) a fresh session of the same agent can repair the bug blind, which rules out unsolvable tasks. The Blue agent then reviews the pull request without being told a bug exists. It wins only if its revision passes all three test suites, and then the two agents swap roles. We run a tournament among 11 model-harness participants on 15 repositories in five languages for 1,500 turns. The leaders win in different ways. GPT-5.5 with Codex CLI ranks first as the strongest solver, repairing 98.3% of the defects it reviews. Claude Opus 4.8 with mini-swe-agent ranks second as the strongest task author, with a 27.3% Red win rate. Finally, within one model family, tasks written by the newest version defeat a fixed-reference solver far more often than those of older versions (42.9% vs. 4.0%), giving preliminary evidence that task difficulty scales with task authoring capability.

  12. Inducing Process Supervision from Outcome-Only Reinforcement Learning

Process reward models (PRMs) have become a key component for LLMs, as their step-level feedback supports both post-training and test-time reasoning. However, training strong PRMs remains costly: human step annotation is difficult to scale, while Monte Carlo estimation is computationally expensive and can drift from the intrinsic correctness of steps. To get effective PRMs at low cost, we introduce TIPS (Thinking-Induced Process Supervision), an outcome-only reinforcement learning (RL) framework for training generative PRMs. In TIPS, the model generates a chain-of-thought (CoT) followed by step-level labels and an outcome label. The reward depends solely on whether the predicted outcome matches the ground truth, and the resulting group-relative advantage is used to optimize the entire generated response. Intuitively, when checking intermediate steps helps determine the outcome, more accurate checks can lead to better outcome judgments and higher rewards. Outcome-only RL can therefore reinforce step-level verification without explicit process supervision. We validate the effectiveness of TIPS across math and agent benchmarks and four backbone families. Notably, TIPS-Qwen3-4B-Thinking-2507 reaches 85.2 F1 on ProcessBench with only 3.2K outcome-labeled trajectories, surpassing all evaluated trained PRMs and strong prompt-only judges such as GPT-5.4-Instruct and Claude-4.7-Opus, while still trailing o1-mini. Code and data are available at https://github.com/RUCBM/TIPS.

  13. InstantFusion: A Shared Latent Interface for Heterogeneous Image Generators

Diffusion/flow models have emerged as the de facto paradigms for image generation, giving rise to a diverse family of modern generators with increasingly heterogeneous architectures and representations. Despite their remarkable generation capabilities, the cross-model alignment of latent representations and the consistency of their underlying denoising dynamics remain underexplored. In this work, we uncover an intriguing cross-model compatibility: independently trained generators exhibit similar latent spatial organization, while directly handing off intermediate states between unaligned models can still preserve coarse visual content. Motivated by these observations, we propose InstantFusion, a lightweight shared latent interface that connects the denoising trajectories of heterogeneous image generators. Specifically, to enable flexible cross-model state translation, model-specific Latent AutoEncoders (LAEs) are introduced to project intermediate states from different generators into a shared latent space and decode them into the latent space of a target generator. This shared space is constrained by two complementary objectives: aligning intermediate states derived from the same image at matched noise levels and synchronizing their corresponding local denoising velocities. Once trained, InstantFusion allows denoising to seamlessly transition across frozen generators without requiring a dedicated mapping for every model pair. The versatility of InstantFusion is demonstrated across acceleration, multi-preference composition, cross-architecture on-policy distillation, and cross-model composition, achieving competitive performance across these diverse settings.

  14. Towards Physically Grounded Articulated 3D Assets: A Multi-Agent Pipeline and Benchmark

In this paper, we study physically grounded articulated 3D asset generation---moving the goal from reproducing how objects look to capturing how they move and function. Inspired by the literature on procedural and agentic generation, we present Artisan, a system that extends the latest method Articraft by introducing a multi-agent pipeline with physical simulation feedback, enabling comprehensive attributes beyond geometry, appearance, and physically plausible articulation, such as collision-free motion, stability under gravity, and accurate mass and material properties. Furthermore, we construct a unified benchmark spanning four key aspects: spatial fidelity, physical plausibility, downstream task performance, and overall quality. The benchmark encompasses 100 reference assets from ArtVIP and LightWheel, 50 stability prompts, and 50 ABO objects with reference masses, with protocols evaluating various metrics. Through extensive evaluation of more than 10 representative models, Artisan achieves competitive spatial fidelity while attaining the lowest collision rates and highest stability rates among the evaluated methods. Together, our system and benchmark establish insights for advancing 3D generation towards physically plausible, functionally usable assets.

  15. When Do We Need On-Policy Distillation? Distilling on Offline Student Rollouts Is Often Better

On-policy distillation (OPD) has become increasingly popular for transferring teacher capabilities to student models. In this work, we ask a critical research question: Is on-policy sampling always beneficial for distilling arbitrary teacher-student pairs? We show that a simple alternative, Semi-OPD, which distills from offline rollouts generated by the initial student, can often outperform OPD in both accuracy and training efficiency. Across 17 teacher-student pairs ranging from 1.5B to 235B parameters, Semi-OPD outperforms OPD in 14 cases, with up to +13.6% accuracy and 11.4x training speedup. We further find that the choice between OPD and Semi-OPD depends on the alignment between the initial teacher and student, quantified by an output-token overlap ratio: OPD is beneficial only when the two are highly aligned with high overlap ratios. Our deeper investigation suggests that effective distillation requires on-policyness w.r.t. both the student and the teacher. For misaligned pairs, student rollouts can become increasingly off-policy w.r.t. the teacher as context length grows, weakening the distillation signal. In contrast, Semi-OPD is often more stable, as it distills on shorter contexts while covering full trajectories and exposing the student to more teacher-preferred tokens. Beyond proposing Semi-OPD as an efficient alternative, our work motivates the community to rethink when to use OPD and to study stronger OPD variants with meaningful teacher-student pairs.
