What is Shepherd Terminal?

Shepherd is a macOS workspace built for running coding agents — Claude Code and Codex — side by side across tabs and split panes. Its defining behaviour is persistence: every process keeps running when the app closes, and the same tabs, panes and sessions come back when you reconnect. Around that it adds an always-available monitor of which sessions are working, waiting or done, the ability to resume a session at its exact tab and pane and inspect the files and diffs it produced, an agent plugin/skill system that lets an agent arrange its own layout and delegate work, and SSH-based remote development with port routes and remote file browsing. It ships as a signed and notarized Apple silicon macOS app.

Apple silicon macOS only — there is no Intel Mac, Windows or Linux build, and the iOS app is listed as coming soon. The site also publishes no license and no pricing page, so the code cannot be audited and there is no stated price or plan to budget against; anyone who needs either a known license or a contractual price should not adopt it yet.
