How to play Klondike solitaire
Seven tableau columns are dealt face-down with one card turned up on each. Four foundation piles sit top-right, one per suit.
Build the tableau down in alternating colours — a red nine takes a black eight. Move a whole ordered run at once by dragging its lowest card.
Build the foundations up by suit, Ace first. Double-click a card (tap on mobile) to send it home when it is legal.
Only a King may be moved into an empty column. Emptying a column and refilling it with a King is how buried cards get freed.
Click the stock pile to turn cards over. When the stock runs out, click again to recycle the waste and go through it once more.
Get all 52 cards onto the foundations to win. Undo is unlimited, so nothing is ever a dead end.
Daily deal vs free play
The daily deal is seeded from the UTC date, so every player in the world gets exactly the same shuffle and you can share your move count and time. Free play deals an endless stream of random games. Both support draw-1 and draw-3, and once every card in the tableau is face-up the auto-finish button clears the rest for you.
